Does that “To Do” list rule your day?
It’s easy to get sucked into the routine of getting kids to school, making dinner, washing dishes and finally, frazzled as you are, you take the time to read a story to your child. And these things are important. And yet, is it reading the story that matters or feeling intimately, wholly and lovingly connected to your child? What if instead of waking to a “To Do” list each morning, you stepped into a “To Be” list?
But how can you be when there is so much to do? How do you find the balance between accomplishing daily tasks, but remaining present and available to your children?
Let these questions simmer. Our energy matters. Parenting strategies can support us only after we’ve worked with how we’re showing up in the moment.
How do you want to show up for your child? How do you want to show up for yourself?
